About Pyrillic
Hi, I'm Kamran Bigdely, the developer of the Pyrillic Chrome extension. You might be wondering why I created this extension, especially since I grew up in Iran and have never been to Tajikistan (though I'd love to visit someday!). One day, I stumbled upon an article on the BBC Persian website about the history of alphabets in Tajikistan. I was fascinated to learn that Tajik people use Cyrillic alphabets. The article mentioned that Tajik speakers often struggle to communicate in writing with Persian speakers in Iran and Afghanistan or read old Persian books because they aren't familiar with the Arabic script used for Persian. I thought it would be super useful to have a tool that automatically converts Persian text to Tajik (Cyrillic) text, making it possible for Tajik people to read Persian web pages. That's why I developed Pyrillic. I hope you find it useful. By the way, "Pyrillic" is a compression of "Persian Cyrillic".
